A netbook is a PC like a laptop computer. This is for Internet access and for wireless communication. Its main function is to browse the mobile Internet and access application on the internet so the name netbook, which is a portmanteau for mobile Internet and Notebook.

Netbooks also has Wi-Fi support that allows users to access the mobile Internet anywhere and everywhere. It's the feature that most of the people are after for the netbooks ; its accessibility to the mobile Internet with its compact and convenient body.
Windows XP and Linux are the system software ( OS ) that runs in Top Netbooks. However, Google is currently developing a new OS that can run in it. The Google Chrome OS, which should be release in 2010, will be targeting the netbooks.
