Lice Treatment: Your 3 Steps To Get (AND STAY) Lice Free

Lice treatment, so as to be effective, needs a 3-step approach. First, you need to treat the person with the lice infestation ( or the person with the lice ). Second, you want to treat the entire family. 3rd, you need to treat the household.

STEP 1: Treat The Lice Sufferer…First and Foremost!

If you're going through lice, you may likely start off by treating the lice they have with over the counter shampoos. These are most often not effective, which sadly, you may immediately find out first hand. Lice have developed a resistance to these medicines. Also, these shampoos contain insecticides ( YUCK ), so be very careful to apply the shampoo in the counseled demeanour. Take care to have a look at the age restrictions for these drugs as well ( they shouldn't be used on kids younger than 2 years old ). NOTE: do not use shampoo or conditioner on the hair after the lice treatment.

Then, be sure to check the hair. If you still see head lice moving as vigorously as they'd been before the medication was applied, I'm unhappy to say, it didn't work! At this point, the general public visit the doctor to get a prescription lice treatment medication to exterminate the lice.

Once you have dumped the lice, you might have to retreat the child after a week to be sure any nits which will have hatched are rubbed out also. Checking the hair every two days or so is a good idea to keep a watch on things. NOTE: you need to continue checking for approximately three weeks.

STEP 2: Treat the entire Family! Yup, it is that critical.

Check each family member scrupulously for lice. Remember, lice are HUMAN parasites, so they can not live on pets. So yes, Fido is safe. It is not necessary to treat your pets. If any family members are found with lice, treat them in an identical manner that you treated the infested kid ( see step 1 above ).

It is also necessary to remember that the over-the-counter lice treatment drugs aren't to be used for folk with health restrictions such as allergies or pregnancy. Lice are simply spread through human contact and therefore it is very important that each relation is examined and treated with a lice treatment – we don't desire any re-infestations, do we? No we don't!

STEP 3: Now it is time to Treat The HOME!

Treating the house is of equal importance as treating each relation when you are combating lice. Take all clothing and bedding which have been influenced and wash them in extraordinarily hot water, at least 130 degrees! Ouch – but it's's required to destroy the small suckers.

All pillows and blankets that can't be washed should be either dry cleaned or put in plastic bags and sealed firmly. These bags should remain sealed for a fortnight, giving any live lice enough time to die. Vacuum your rugs and carpets comprehensively and often . It's also a great idea to vacuum any couches and chairs you'll have also.

Combating lice regularly feels like an endless battle. You'll get discouraged and you'll get frustrated because it only takes one louse to re-infect your house -just one lousy louse!

Following these 3 lice-killing steps is urgent & part of any effective lice treatment. Breathe simple, your lice nightmare can be over soon!
